Dinos

Dino Depot

Dino Depot replaces cryopods on the cluster. Your tames go into a Dinoball — a ball you can carry in your inventory — and come back out wherever you release them.

You craft Dinoballs yourself, the same way you’d craft normal cryopods.

Capture a tame into a Dinoball, carry it with you — even between maps — and throw it back out when you need it. Fair warning: a released dino comes out with summoning sickness for about 3 minutes — weakened and slow — and you can’t chain-throw balls. No dropping a fresh army mid-fight.

Dinoballs are kind to what’s inside:

  • Babies keep growing in the ball, and imprinting is handled for you (imprint can reach the full 100% in the ball).
  • Dinos keep earning experience while stored — at 1.1× the normal rate, slightly faster than standing outside.
  • Buffs stay — mate boost and similar don’t vanish when you ball a dino.
  • Pregnancies pause — gestation timers wait until the mother comes back out.
  • Stats recover fast in the ball: health at 2.5× speed, stamina at , oxygen and food at — and torpor drains at 3×, so a knocked-out tame wakes up fresh.

The mod adds more than just balls — all craftable:

  • Depot Terminal — a 500-slot dino storage terminal that also incubates fertilized eggs at 1.1× speed, insulates the area around it (about 5 foundations), scoops up nearby eggs, auto-captures newborns within about 10 foundations, and even works as a tribute terminal like an obelisk.
  • Dinoball Storage Box — bulk storage for your balls.
  • Dinoball Display Case — show off a favourite tame.
  • Dino Digitizer — a rifle that captures your dinos from a distance.
  • The normal rules still count: tame caps and map transfer rules apply when you release — a dino that isn’t allowed on a map can’t be smuggled in via a ball.
  • Your tribe log shows every capture and release, so nothing disappears quietly.
